SEED AFTER SCHOOL NEIGHBORHOOD TUTORING & TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

The SEED Neighborhood Tutoring & Technology Program (NTTP) provides specialized academic instruction designed to help students increase their knowledge in the areas of reading, math and computers.  With activities targeting children 2-5 years of age and school aged youth ages 6-12, NTTP works to increase academic achievement with supplemental practices and tutoring designed to help children and youth perform better in school.  The program operates Monday – Friday, Before School, 6:30 AM & After School, 2:30 – 5:30PM.  Call 301-277-2021 for additional information.

 

SEED LEARNING ACADEMY

SEED Learning Academy (SLA), serving children ages 2 through 2nd grade, is committed to incorporating Christian instruction while providing a comprehensive academic foundation for all children.  SLA offers a traditional school year (late August-June) consisting of 180 days of academic instruction.  The A-Beka Christian Curriculum and Bible Lessons are used in our school for all levels.  Students receive instruction in math-reading readiness, language arts, science, Bible, social studies, music, computers and fitness.  SLA also engages students in the center-based approach to learning.  This time is provided for creative art activities, drawing, painting, cutting and pasting, all used to reinforce the lesson of the day.  Call 301-277-2021 or 301-458-9808 for additional information.

 

SEED SUMMER CAMP

SEED Summer Camp (SSC) offers classes with trained youth and adult instructors in specific areas of learning.  Geared toward offering an exciting supplemental educational experience during the summer months, SSC offers campers weekly field trips, fitness instruction, art and computer classes along with reading and math tutorials.  All children receive free breakfast and lunch through the USDA Summer Feeding Program.  SEED Summer Camp will run until August 10, 2006.  Please call 301-458-9808 for additional information.

SEED HOUSING COUNSELING & EDUCATION

SEED’s pre purchase and post education housing counseling program is committed to increasing homeownership, decreasing foreclosures while providing financial education for all residents, particularly African Americans and members of the Latin community in Prince George’s County.  SEED is committed to accelerating the drive to better inform, educate and prepare underserved potential homebuyers and to test innovative approaches to qualifying and preparing new default-resistant homeowners.  This will be achieved through:  1 on 1 attention, pre purchase counseling and preparation; credit correction; strong money-management skills; post purchase education and a foreclosure prevention strategy.   SEED is a HUD approved housing counseling agency.  Workshops and credit counseling sessions available.  Call 30-458-9808 to register.

SEED FOOD DISTRIBUTION CENTER &

COAT OF MANY COLORS CLOTHES CLOSET

As part of SEED’s community outreach efforts our food distribution center and clothes closet serves hundreds of families each month through the provision of free food, clothing and other items.   Families are referred by area agencies and other local food banks.  Call 301-277-6199 for hours of operation.

BOOST

(BASIC OCCUPATIONAL OBTAINMENT SKILLS TRAINING)

As SEED’s workforce development arm, this comprehensive job training and employment placement program prepares members of the community for entry into the workforce.  With basic job skills and computer training, BOOST helps persons with varying skill levels attain the competencies and proficiencies needed to obtain employment.  Call 301-458-9808 to register for classes.
