SEED Extended Learning Program @ EXCEL. The SEED Extended Learning Program (SELP) provides specialized academic instruction designed to help students increase their knowledge in the areas of reading and math through tutoring and after-school instructions. SEED Summer Bridge is a community summer enrichment program for elementary school students that provides reading, math supplemental learning activities with social action.
SEED-CDF & EXCEL Academy Freedom School Program Sites
Since 2009 more than 400 scholars from elementary, middle and high schools county-wide participated in the award winning Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools® Program hosted by SEED in both its Maryland and Michigan locations. The SEED/EXCEL Freedom Schools program, the first of the national program to be held in Prince George’s County, provides summer enrichment through a model literacy curriculum that supports children and families through academic enrichment, parental involvement, social action, intergenerational leadership and nutrition and health.
